The Good Shepherd Development Outreach, an orphanage at Akwatia in the Eastern Region has received donations to support the daily upkeep of children in the home.
The gesture is part of the 40th birthday celebrations of the Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, who is a regular donor to the facility.
According to the Minister, sharing the goodness that God has shown him in his life so far is his only way to expressing gratitude on his birthday.
In a brief remarks on the day, Mr. Oppong Nkrumah lauded the caretakers of the orphanage for their dedicated service to the children and urged the children to strive to do better than him in future.
He also pledged to mobilize support to assist the orphanage to complete an abandoned dormitory block it started years ago. This he said will help solve the accommodation problem facing the orphanage.
The Director of the orphanage, Mrs. Philomena Asantewaa Adjei expressed gratitude to the Minister and thanked him for always putting a smile on the faces of the children.
